RealChange

How it works

Four steps, all inside one month.

RealChange never holds your funds between them. What is collected in a cycle is paid out in that cycle.

  1. 01

    Plaid reads

Settled card purchases only. Pending transactions are never counted.

  2. 02

    The ledger adds up

Each round-up is written once, in whole cents, against your account.

  3. 03

    Stripe collects

Once a month, or once your balance reaches $10, whichever comes first.

  4. 04

    Your tzedakah is paid

In the same cycle. The charity charges your card directly, so nothing waits on us to pass it along.

A coffee, start to finish.

Coffee$1.89
Rounds up to$2.00
To tzedakah$0.11

A $2.00 purchase rounds up nothing, because it is already a whole dollar. Pending purchases are never counted, and neither are transfers, ATM withdrawals, fees or loan payments.

What we promise.

Whole cents only
Every round-up is calculated in integer cents. No rounding drift, no fractions of a penny.
Pause anytime
Pausing stops collection immediately. Nothing is charged while you are paused.
Set a monthly cap
Pick a ceiling and accrual stops for the month once you reach it.
Refunds come back out
If a purchase is refunded, its round-up is taken back out of your pot. The pot never goes below zero.

Round-ups versus the alternatives.

Three honest ways to give. Round-ups are not better at everything, they are better at being effortless.

Pick a tzedakah, link a card, and the rest happens on its own.
